Are you yearning for a luxury sports sedan? If so, you should check out the 2025 Acura TLX range. The TLX was refreshed for 2024 and continues into 2025 as-is. It provides a thrilling driving experience, plenty of tech, and a comfortable cabin. However, there is another contender in the form of the 2025 Lexus IS300, which offers a compelling feature set.
To decide which luxury sports sedan is most suitable, we’ve carried out an Acura vs Lexus evaluation. We’ll investigate each car’s interior amenities, safety systems, and performance specifications. Then, we’ll tell you which one comes out on top. But if you’re impatient, contact us at Gettel Acura in Sarasota, FL. We’ll tell you all about the 2025 TLX range and our current Acura specials.
The 2025 TLX and the 2025 IS300 are compact-class luxury sports sedans. The 2025 TLX has 93 cubic feet of space here, while the 2025 IS300 has 92 cubic feet. This helps the 2025 TLX offer that extra bit of roominess in the rear seat. The 2025 TLX also includes active sound control for all trims. This system actively cancels out road and engine sounds, resulting in a more peaceful travel experience for all aboard. The 2025 IS300 doesn’t have a similar feature.
Then, the 2025 Acura TLX has a larger trunk with 14 cubic feet of cargo capacity. The 2025 Lexus IS300 offers just 11 cubic feet, making it less convenient for longer trips with luggage. Moreover, you can use the 60-40 split-fold rear seat in the 2025 TLX to carry longer items. The 2025 IS300 also offers a folding rear seat. Both cars provide the expected complement of cup holders, glove boxes, and console storage areas. They also have dual-zone automatic climate control systems. In the 2025 TLX, the GPS-linked climate control system includes humidity control and air filtration.
Every 2025 TLX comes with seats trimmed in Milano premium leather. Then, all trims get powered and heated front seats. Most trims also have ventilated front seats with power lumbar, thigh extension, and side bolsters. Then, the 2025 TLX comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a color-matched headliner, and Acura’s Iconic Drive™ ambient LED cabin lighting system. The system offers 27 different themes to suit your mood. The 2025 IS300 isn’t similarly equipped.
These two luxury sport sedans are equipped with Bluetooth® for hands-free calls and wireless audio streaming. They also get standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. The 2025 TLX comes with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Meanwhile, the 2025 IS300 offers a choice between 8-inch or 10.3-inch infotainment displays, depending on trim. Then, every 2025 TLX gets an ELS Studio premium sound system with 13 or 17 speakers. A Mark Levinson premium sound system is optional for the 2025 IS300.
The 2025 Acura TLX range is available with two efficient turbocharged powertrains. Most trims use a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder unit with a mono-scroll turbocharger. This unit makes 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the top Type S trim gets a 3.0-liter V6 with a twin-scroll turbocharger. This engine can push out 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque.
A 10-speed automatic transmission is standard for the 2025 TLX range. The gearbox comes with sequential SportShift paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel. In the lowest trim, it drives the front wheels. All other trims get Acura’s Super-Handling All-Wheel-Drive (SH-AWD) system. The Type S also gains rev-matched downshifts for a sportier driving experience. Furthermore, this trim includes high-performance chassis bracing and an adaptive damper system. It also gains Brembo brakes with 4-piston calipers at the front.
The 2025 Lexus IS300 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. This 241-hp unit is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Buyers can pick between rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. There’s also an F Sport handling package available.
The 2025 Acura TLX features AcuraWatch™ advanced driver and safety assist. All trims have a collision mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assistance. Also standard are a road departure mitigation system, traffic jam assistance, and traffic sign recognition. Then, you’ll find lane departure warning, a rear cross-traffic monitor, and a blind spot information system. The Type S also gets a surround-view camera system. Meanwhile, the 2025 IS300 has some of these, but not all.
